March Recap: International Women’s Day

Every year, the month of March is celebrated worldwide as a period to celebrate all women, all around the world, regardless of ethnicity, background, class, religion nor any other classification. This celebration is tied back to 1945, where the Charter of The United Nations became the first international agreement to affirm the principle of equality between women and men. It wasn’t till March 8, 1975 that the UN celebrated its first official International Women’s day. Year after year since then, has the month been used to celebrate and appreciate all women worldwide.

This year was nothing short of special, as it was titled – Break The Bias. This was to promote the concept of a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world diverse, equitable and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.

To “Break The Bias”, Garmspot was focused on empowering every women that came in contact with the brand the way we know how. We kicked the month off by giving out free crocs to our female community: from our customers, our social media followers, our subscribers to even store visitors.

We went further to promote our women, by giving special recognition to our female-owned brands across our platforms, promoting them and what they stand for.

As we continue to work to forge a gender equal world, we will continue to celebrate our women’s achievements, give them visibility, and call out inequality, whenever we see it.
